Building a Productive Economy

Strap line “An Economy for ALL to Strive and Thrive”

Needs – An Industrial Strategy from Government that feeds into school/colleges

First 12 months of Labour Government
To kick start the recovery - A House Building National Program for Social (Rented) and Affordable homes for sale.
2)      A sensible Living Wage based on American ‘Campaign 15’ Equivalent to approx. £10 per hour, not the £7.20 offered by the Conservative government for under 25’s

Benefits to the Economy – Puts more spending power back into citizens hands/chancery Coffers (Enabling paying Tax to run Public Services)

Happy workers makes for loyal and productive work force, giving employers dependable forward planning options of business expansion/progress/confidence creating Growing successful businesses – Creating an Increase in productivity (exports)

Giving future security to workers that allow roots to be put down – family contentment and aspirations for children to fulfil their potential, get good jobs, own their own homes, and plan with confidence for their own futures.

Customer loyalty leading to further increase in business.

Encouraging a Skilled Work Force.

3)      Insentivised Education Program ie Real Apprenticeships in
a)      Creative Crafts/Arts/Digital Communications/Vocational Apprenticeships in Building skills/Plumbing/Carpentry/Architecture/Design/Construction
ALL SKILLS THAT WILL TRANSFER TO OTHER INDUSTRIES
b)      Re-introduce ESA of £30 per week that helps low income students pay for transport etc each week. Encouragement in short fall areas of skills in the Sciences/Maths/etc.
c)      Financial support for ALL lower income students up to age 25.
d)      Promise of  ‘Living Wage’ employment for two years after graduation/completion of study, working in Government based companies
e)      Make it a NATIONWIDE POLICY


4)      Re-Nationalisation of Public Services including

Trains/Post Office/NHS+Subsiduary Services/Products/Energy Industry

5)      Revitalisation of the High Streets by

a)      Encouragement of small business set ups through Low rents/or free for first 12 months and subsidised for further 3 years for Workshops/Retail shops + Grants at low interest rates to start new businesses in local areas. + EXEMPTION FROM BUSINESS RATES FOR FIRST 12 months, gradually rising to full rates after 4 years.
All of the above strategies would create a society where there is respect for workers, grants for jobless people, matched skills for young adults, and would lead to a great improvement in our Gross National Productivity, and standing in the eyes of the rest of the world.

*Note* 1) And I haven't even mentioned the Tax Dodging Corporation loopholes that if closed, would ensure the treasury coffers were always filling to enhance the countries general standard of living.
